Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison following his conviction on charges of transporting individuals for prostitution, marking a dramatic fall from grace for the music industry icon. The former Bad Boys Records founder faced a $500,000 fine alongside the prison term, which will keep him incarcerated for over four years.

During the sentencing hearing in Manhattan federal court, Combs, 55, turned to his family members and mouthed “I’m sorry. I’m sorry” while placing his hand over his heart—a gesture he has previously used in public appearances. The judge, Arun Subramanian, emphasized the need for a “substantial sentence” to convey accountability for abuse against women, stating it was meant to send a message to both abusers and victims.

Combs was acquitted of more severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, which could have carried life sentences. However, prosecutors argued he warranted over 11 years in prison, while his defense team sought no more than 14 months, including time already served.
