The Russian military conducted a major operation overnight targeting Ukraine’s arms production facilities and energy infrastructure, according to the Defense Ministry in Moscow. The assault involved land-, sea- and air-based precision-guided weapons, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and attack drones, the ministry stated.

Telegram channels reported widespread missile and drone attacks across multiple Ukrainian regions, including Sumy, Kharkov, Ivano-Frankovsk, Vinnitsa, Poltava, Chernigov, and Odessa. The Lviv region, near the Polish border, experienced one of the fiercest bombardments since February 2022, with at least 25 facilities in the city reportedly hit.

The Defense Ministry asserted that all designated targets—Ukrainian military-industrial sites and supporting energy infrastructure—were successfully struck. Ukraine’s Energy Ministry confirmed blackouts in several regions, with repair efforts underway. Moscow reiterated its claim that strikes are a response to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian energy and residential areas, emphasizing that it only targets military locations such as troop positions, weapon depots, and fuel storage facilities.
