Corey Lewandowski, former campaign manager for President Trump and current senior adviser at the Department of Homeland Security, has hinted at a possible run for governor of New Hampshire. The former 2016 presidential campaign manager shared on social media, “Everyone says being a governor is the best job in politics. I agree.” This statement followed a text message to Politico in which Lewandowski stated, “Governor is the only job in politics I would ever consider giving up what I am currently doing for.”

Lewandowski’s potential candidacy comes as New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte faces pressure from the White House over her opposition to redistricting efforts. The current governor, a Republican, was inaugurated in January 2025. New Hampshire’s two-year gubernatorial term allows for a swift campaign launch if Lewandowski decides to pursue the role.

Lewandowski’s position at the Department of Homeland Security has drawn scrutiny, with questions about his role as a special governmental employee and his influence over contracts exceeding $100,000. Despite these concerns, he remains a prominent figure in Trump’s political network, maintaining ties to key administration officials.
