The Department of Justice has reportedly ordered multiple top federal prosecutors to investigate George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) for its alleged ties to left-wing violence. A senior official in Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche’s office, Aakash Singh, sent a directive to seven U.S. attorney’s offices, including those in California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, and Maryland, to examine the organization’s purported support for domestic terrorism, according to ABC News.

The U.S. attorneys will reportedly investigate OSF’s alleged connections to arson attacks, wire fraud, and racketeering. OSF, now chaired by George Soros’ son Alexander Soros, has funneled over $80 million into groups linked to terrorism or extremist violence since 2016, per the Capital Research Center. A Justice Department spokesperson stated, “This DOJ, along with our hard-working and dedicated U.S. Attorneys, will always prioritize public safety and investigate organizations that conspire to commit acts of violence or other federal violations of law.”

A spokesperson for Open Society Foundations denied the allegations, asserting, “The Open Society Foundations unequivocally condemn terrorism and do not fund terrorism. Our activities are peaceful and lawful, and our grantees are expected to abide by human rights principles and comply with the law.” The statement called the accusations “politically motivated attacks on civil society,” claiming they aim to suppress free speech.

According to the Capital Research Center, OSF has funded U.S.-based groups labeled as domestic terrorists by the FBI, including the Center for Third World Organizing and its affiliate Ruckus Society, which trained activists in property destruction during 2020 riots, and the Sunrise Movement, linked to the Stop Cop City campaign. The organization also awarded $18 million to the Movement for Black Lives, a group that co-authored a radical guide glorifying Hamas’s October 7 massacre.

The DOJ’s directive follows an investigation by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform into OSF’s alleged role in undermining President Trump’s 2016 campaign. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) recently demanded George Soros and OSF official Leonard Bernardo appear before the committee after FBI documents suggested OSF was involved in the Russia Hoax.

President Donald Trump has intensified calls for federal agencies to target left-wing groups like Antifa, which he designated a domestic terrorist organization. He signed a National Security Presidential Memorandum directing agencies to disrupt funding for such groups, citing rhetoric from the “radical left” as a cause of recent violence.
