A man was arrested Monday afternoon after scaling the U.S. Treasury Building fence near the White House, according to reports. The intruder climbed over the southeast side of the building and was quickly apprehended by Secret Service agents. President Trump was present at the White House during the incident.

Secret Service Uniformed Division officers intercepted the individual to prevent him from approaching the president or the White House compound. A spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service confirmed the arrest, stating the man was taken into custody for unlawful entry and transported to the Metropolitan Police Department’s 2nd District for processing.

The motive behind the breach remains unclear, but the suspect reportedly attempted to disguise himself as a Secret Service agent. Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing the man scaling the fence just before 5 p.m. on Monday.

No threats to presidential security were reported, and the Secret Service emphasized there was no impact on protective operations. The individual is now facing charges of unlawful entry and is in police custody.
