Two Delta regional jets collided while taxiing at LaGuardia Airport in New York City on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. local time, according to reports.

A CBS News producer aboard one of the aircraft described the scene, stating the planes were taxing to the gate at LGA after landing from CLT when one was struck by another Delta regional jet taxiing nearby. Air Traffic Control audio indicated the right wing of one plane collided with the nose of the other. Pilots reported damage to their windshield and at least one injured individual.

A LaGuardia Airport spokesperson confirmed a single person onboard sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution. Photos from the scene showed significant damage to the nose of one aircraft, while crew members and passengers were seen on the tarmac alongside emergency personnel.

Passengers were deplaned on the taxiway and transferred via buses to Terminal C, with those on departing flights rebooked to alternative flights. Airport operations remained unaffected by the minor incident.
