Emergency vehicles were deployed at London’s Heathrow Airport after an American Airlines plane experienced a suspected malfunction, prompting its return to the airport shortly after takeoff. The aircraft, en route to Philadelphia, was forced to turn back and land safely at London Heathrow.

Flightradar24 reported that the plane, designated as AA737, returned to LHR and taxied to a remote stand. Authorities confirmed the incident involved stuck flaps, though no injuries were reported. Emergency services were stationed on the tarmac as a precaution, with concerns raised about the aircraft being overweight upon landing. American Airlines has not yet issued a statement.

The London Fire Brigade confirmed its presence at the scene but stated no direct action was required by firefighters. This incident follows a separate fire at Heathrow’s Terminal 3 car park two days earlier, which damaged vehicles and disrupted operations. A Heathrow spokesperson described the recent event as an “isolated incident” and apologized for any inconvenience caused to passengers.
