Last night, conservative journalist Nick Sortor was attacked by ANTIFA in Portland as he attempted to report on the unrest. Instead of arresting the violent ANTIFA members, Portland Police detained Sortor.

Karoline Leavitt announced that President Trump has directed Pete Hegseth to deploy active-duty troops to Portland to end what she described as a “reign of terror” in the city. Leavitt also confirmed Trump’s plan to reclaim federal funds allocated to Portland.

Trump emphasized his commitment to making American cities safe, citing his success in restoring order to Washington, D.C. He stated that similar measures would be implemented nationwide, including in Portland. The president has ordered Hegseth to deploy troops to protect “war-ravaged” Portland and ICE facilities targeted by Antifa and other left-wing groups.

Leavitt condemned the violence, noting disturbing video footage of Antifa militants attacking ICE field offices. She described incidents such as the use of a stop sign as a battering ram, hurling explosives at police, assaulting officers, and displaying a guillotine near an ICE facility.

Trump’s administration has sent federal law enforcement to safeguard federal assets and arrest those inciting violence. Leavitt highlighted a recent incident where journalist Nick Sardar was arrested after being attacked by Antifa, despite the police failing to detain the perpetrators. The Department of Justice is investigating the arrest.

Leavitt warned that Portland’s “left-wing mobs” cannot dictate who resides in the city. Trump has instructed his team to review potential cuts to federal aid for Portland, stating, “We will not fund states that allow anarchy.” Additional federal resources, including CBP and ICE support, will be deployed immediately.

The White House reiterated its stance: “Law and order will prevail, and President Trump will make sure of it.”
